Ellen Wade holds an A.B. from Mount Holyoke College, an M.A. from the University of Massachusetts and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. Also a licensed attorney in Texas, she has practiced law in Massachusetts for over twenty years, most recently at Sugarman, Rogers, Barshak & Cohen, P.C. She is a Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Women's Bar Association’s Elder Law Project and a member of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Elder Protection Advisory Committee. Attorney Wade is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association, the National Lawyers Guild and a past board member of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts. Attorney Wade, along with her partner, Gail Horowitz is the recipient of the Women’s Bar Association’s Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award for the year 2001.
