GAIL E. HOROWITZ is a graduate of Yale
College and Harvard Law School. Prior to her founding Wade & Horowitz
she was a partner at the Boston law firm of Sugarman, Rogers, Barshak &
Cohen, P.C. She is a founding Co-Chair of both the Women’s Bar
Foundation’s Elder Law Project and the GLBT Estate Planning Section of
the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association. She is also a member
of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Boston Bar Association, the
Massachusetts Probate Inns of Court, the Policy Committee of the LGBT
Aging Project and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She
served on the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Elder Protection Advisory
Committee. Before attending law school Attorney Horowitz was a Vice
President at The Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City. Attorney
Horowitz received the Womens’ Bar Association’s Pro Bono Attorney of the
Year Award—2001 and has been named as a Massachusetts SuperLawyer in
Boston Magazine every year since 2005.
Attorney Horowitz has lectured on traditional
estate and Medicaid planning and planning for gays and lesbians for the
Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts State Treasurer’s Money
Conference, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc., the
Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association, PridePlanners, the LGBT
Aging Project, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors
and various non-profit organizations.
